Passage 1
Jackfruit
In the warm, wet forests of South and Southeast Asia, there is a special tree called the jackfruit tree. It grows one of the biggest fruits in the world: the jackfruit.
A jackfruit can be very large. Some can weigh up to 55 kilograms. Many jackfruits weigh 20–30 kilograms, which is about the same as a small child.
Jackfruit has a sweet, fruity smell. Its taste is like a mix of apple, pineapple, mango, and banana.
Jackfruit is full of vitamins and fibre, so it is good for your body. When the fruit is not ripe, people can cook it and use it as a meat substitute in vegetarian dishes.
India grows more jackfruit than any other country in the world.
